Beginning this week, the building at 1990 S. Springer Drive adjacent to I-355 will be demolished. The building is no longer needed and the site will remain vacant until a use for the property is determined.

The American Demolition Corporation of Elgin, IL will begin mobilizing equipment to the area that will be used for the demolition. The existing building and all components inside the building will be removed. There is also an underground structure below the building that will be removed and may require the use of a wrecking ball.

None of this work will harm or damage any of the surrounding buildings. It is anticipated that this work will generate some noise and trucks will be hauling away debris during this process. Once everything is removed the area will be backfilled, capped with top soil, and seeded. Public Works crews will be onsite to monitor and answer any questions that may arise.

If you have any questions, please contact Public Works at (630)620-5740.
