ComEd Announces Winter Tree Trimming in Lombard area

tree trim 240_thumb1.jpg

ComEd will be performing tree trimming throughout Lombard in February and March of 2017. ComEd's vegetation management activities are a key component of their maintenance program to ensure electrical reliability.

Tree interference is the leading cause of ComEd outages. The trimming will help prevent interaction between trees and ComEd equipment, and will help to reduce future outages. Affected property owners and customers have been mailed notification of the tree trimming.

Vegetation management activities may concern residents because trees near electrical wires are significantly trimmed and could require removal. Qualified line-clearance workers contracted by ComEd will be performing the tree pruning work. Supervisors and General Foremen will be in close contact with the crews, ensuring that the work is performed properly. For more information please contact 1(800)Edison-1 or visit
