The Village of Lombard’s Public Safety and Transportation Committee will review plans to revise previously established residential street parking restrictions in areas near and around Glenbard East High School, in response to concerns from residents.
Staff members from the Lombard Public Works and Police Departments have developed a comprehensive approach to address broad parking concerns that were communicated by residents in the vicinity of Glenbard East High School. The current parking restrictions restrict on-street parking from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on school days. These restrictions apply to all motor vehicles. Under the new proposed restrictions, the majority of the streets generally within a 1/3 mile radius of the property lines of Glenbard East will have parking restricted to 2 Hour Parking 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on school days. This proposed change will allow residents to utilize the street for parking, while continuing to restrict parking for students.
Glenbard East High School officials have been informed of the proposed change and are not opposed to the modifications. The recommendation will be discussed by the Public Safety and Transportation Committee on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at 7 p.m., at Village Hall. The meeting is open to the public. Additional meeting information can be found on the Village of Lombard website at www.villageoflombard.org/MeetingCalendar. Please contact the Police Department at (630)873-4400 with any questions.
