The Village of Lombard is inviting residents to attend its 11th Annual Senior Fair on Wednesday, October 5, at the Lombard Community Building at Lombard Common Park, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Popular services and vendors will include flu shots from Walgreens, blood pressure readings from the Lombard Fire Department, and massages from National University of Health Sciences. The Secretary of State’s Mobile Driver’s License Facility will also be on site offering to renew licenses and issue State I.D. cards. State and County services along with local agencies will also be on hand with useful information for seniors.
“Lombard is a neighbor friendly community and we truly value our senior citizens,” said Trustee Robyn Pike and Chair of the Community Relations Committee, which helps to organize the event. “We’re proud to provide our seniors with an opportunity to learn about useful programs, and we look forward to recognizing our Senior of the Year Nominees and winners.” Community Relations Committee members include Ahmed Ali, Pamela Bedard, Michael Ledonne, Anthony Pacilli, Gladys Piper, Sharon Vish, and Barbara Ware.
Senior of the Year nominations are due to Village Hall at 255 E. Wilson Ave., or may be emailed to email@example.com, by September 9, 2016. Nominations must include a brief statement of 50 words or less on why the senior should be considered for this award, as well as a short biography of the person. Nominees must have a Lombard mailing address and be 65 years of age or older. The winners will be announced at the 2016 Senior Fair and the winning Senior Man and Senior Woman of the Year will ride in the 2017 Lilac Time Parade.
Any interested vendors may contact Avis Meade, Communications Coordinator and staff liaison to the Community Relations Committee at Send Mail or (630) 620-5718. For more information please villageoflombard.org/seniorfairvisit .
