Lombard Police Charge Suspect in Mail Theft

pd_thumb1.png

The Lombard Police Department has arrested and charged a suspect in relation to recent package/mail thefts.

The arrest was made based on a photo of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle. This is an ongoing investigation as the suspect is also being investigated for an additional theft.

To help avoid the theft of your packages it is suggested that you always require a signature when ordering items for delivery and to never have any items delivered to an address that is unattended. It is recommended to deliver packages to a safe location where they will not be left unattended. Many delivery companies offer the option to reroute deliveries to places of work or to a friend or family member’s residence that will be home. Most delivery companies also offer an opportunity for customers to enter specific instructions as to where to leave the package.

If a theft does occur please call 911 to report the crime to police and alert your neighbors.
