The Village of Lombard hosted its annual summer blood drive on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, and received 158 pints of blood, with the potential to save 474 lives.
“We’re so glad the community continues to support our blood drives,” said Carol Bauer, Executive Coordinator to the Village Manager and blood drive organizer. “It’s a selfless act to donate blood – and every pint counts.” The Village has been hosting blood drives since January 1988 and has collected 12,432 pints of blood since its first drive. Residents can help add to these totals at the Village’s upcoming “We Remember” blood drive on Wednesday, Sept. 16., in honor of the 9/11 tragedy.
Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred. To make an appointment online please visit Heartland Blood Centers and for further information please contact Carol Bauer at (630)620-5712.
