Anyone wishing to park in the commuter parking lots will have to pay for parking using 3 electronic pay stations. Pay boxes will accept credit cards, cash and coins but will not give change.
The new electronic parking boxes will be located in three convenient locations. One box will be on the South side of the pedestrian underpass near the ramp and stairs, a second will be located West of the Hammerschmidt daily fee lot, and a third box will be available on June 6th on the North side of pedestrian underpass near the ramp and stairs.
In addition, a new mobile payment parking option will allow daily fee parkers at the Lombard Metra Station the convenience of skipping the trip to the pay boxes and paying for parking directly from their mobile phones. If you choose to use the pay-by-phone option, a transaction fee of 37¢ to Passport Parking will apply in addition to the daily parking fee. Smart phone customers can download and register for the Passport Parking app from the Apple Store for iPhones or Google Play for Android users. One can also register for the service online at passportparking.com/park, or via Facebook. Users will then be sent a verification code that will allow them to finalize the process. Starting on June 1st, daily fee parkers in Lombard will enter Zone Number 60148, and the number of their parking space. Users will be required to load a minimum of $10.00 onto their account before using the pay-by-phone option.
The daily fee parking rate for all Village of Lombard downtown commuter parking lots will remain at $1.25. The money collected from parking sales is used strictly for parking-related expenses. Residents are reminded free parking is available on Saturdays and Sundays, certain holidays, and after 3 p.m. on weekdays. No overnight parking is permitted.
