Blood Drives

blood drive 240The Village of Lombard is proud to host several blood drives throughout the calendar year. These drives are run by Heartland Blood Centers and the blood collected is used for local needs here in Illinois, and in northern Indiana. The Village's has been hosting blood drives since 1989 and the donations collected have helped to save thousands of lives.

Donors may be entered to win a variety of prizes (depending on each blood drive), and will receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver's frozen custard.

We Remember Blood Drive: Sept. 13, 2017

2017 year marks the 16th anniversary of the September 11th Attacks on the World Trade Center, and the Village of Lombard is joining organizations across the country to encourage blood donations to honor those who lost their lives. Due to Hurricane Henry in Texas, donations collected will first replenish local blood bank sources, with the potential for excess of blood supplies being sent to Texas.

Lombard’s Annual “We Remember” Blood Drive is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept.13, 2017, 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Heartland Mobile Coach at Yorktown Shopping Center (parked outside entrance 5 between Von Maur and The Eatery), and 1:15 – 7 p.m., at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave. All donors will receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver’s custard, a free entry voucher for Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm Pumpkin Fest valid Sept. 23 – Oct. 31, and will be registered to win a Yorktown gift card.

“Donating blood takes only 45 minutes and can save the life of someone in need,” said Lombard’s Blood Drive Coordinator, Carol Bauer. “Every 3 seconds someone needs blood and when you donate, you are providing someone’s friend or loved one another chance on life.”
Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred.

Appointments are highly recommended and may be made at or by contacting Carol Bauer at (630)620-5712 or emailing
